- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, add the butter and sugar. Beat them together until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
- Crack the eggs into the bowl one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a separate bowl. Gradually add this dry mix into the wet ingredients, stirring gently to combine.
- Pour in the milk and stir until the batter is smooth and creamy. Make sure not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.
- Bake for about 30–35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, dust with a little sifted confectioners’ sugar if you like.
